Futsal is a form of indoor soccer played on a gym floor with a low bounce ball. It is played in a 5 vs. 5 format with 1 goalie and 4 field players on each team. This winter the Southwestern Oklahoma Futsal League is sponsored by The Lawton Family YMCA and will play on the weekends starting on 17 & 18 December – mid February. Futsal develops players close in ball handling accuracy and skills. Because of the fast play there are more touches on the ball for all players and skills naturally advance and develop as the ball is handled more frequently.
