DESCRIPTION:2015 “One to Six” \n$900 Art Purchase Competition \nDeadline Friday\, Nov 6\, 2015 by 5pm \nNo entry fee\, submit your artwork! \n(Lawton\, OK) There is an open call for artwork to be considered for the “One to Six” Art Purchase Award. The Lawton Arts & Humanities Council’s Program Committee serves as jury to make recommendations to the Council for this purchase of six pieces of artwork from one artist. The artwork in turn is presented to the six people who win the 2015 Cultural Awards. \nThe award is $900.00 for the six pieces. The theme is open but should be appropriate to the Cultural Awards. All artists are eligible with only six (6) works allowed per artists. There is no entry fee! \nPast artists recipients of the “One to Six” have been Santos Rubio\, Tom Biggs\, Patty Ferguson\, Myron Beeson\, Cynthia Clay\, David Gill\, Katherine Liontas\, Eva Yeahquo-Williams\, and John Hernandez just to name a few! City of Lawton and the Lawton Arts & Humanities Council sponsor this art purchase award. Call the Arts & Humanities Division at 580-581-3470/581-3471 for more information. \n“One to Six” Guidelines \n· Do not send actual artwork for consideration\, photos only. \n· Works submitted should be less than 24” in any dimension. \n· Two- and three-dimensional works considered. \n· All media considered including framed limited edition fine art prints or photographs. \n· Media\, including frame and matting\, should be made of archival materials. \n· Three-dimensional works should have fine art presentation. \n· An area needs to be reserved (estimate 1-2” x 3-4”) for a plaque on all works. \n· Interested artists should submit digital or film photo(s) of the work. \n· For two-dimensional works\, only one view is needed. \n· For three-dimensional works\, the top and side views need to be submitted. \n· Each photo should have artist’s name and title of the work. \n· Submit an artist statement with contact information. \n  \nContact: \nArts & Humanities Div \nP.O. DESCRIPTION:2015 Cultural Award Nomination Forms Now Online – Click on Title for nomination form – Due November 6\, 2015 by 5pm \n(Lawton\, OK) Do you know someone who has made outstanding contributions in the arts and/or humanities in Lawton and the surrounding cities? Perhaps it is an “unsung” arts and/or humanities angel who has contributed to the quality of life in Comanche County. The City of Lawton and the Lawton Arts & Humanities Council (LAHC) are accepting nominations for the 2015 Cultural Awards. These awards honor artists\, educators\, businesses/organizations\, and citizens who have made a difference in our community. The awards will be given at the “2016 Arts for All” luncheon. The deadline is November 6\, 2015. Any individual or organization may submit nominations for the six categories. \nThe first person to accept the award in 1971 was Mrs. Roma Clift Montgomery. Her selfless acts in supporting the arts\, humanities\, artists\, educators\, and students are legendary.
