SUMMARY:Box City for Family Promise of Lawton
DESCRIPTION:Spend the night sleeping outside in a cardboard box (that you bring with you) to raise funds to support Family Promise of Lawtons homeless families\, and to increase awareness about homelessness in our own community. Make plans now to participate in a fun\, meaningful\, and unique fundraising event benefitting an organization the helps homeless families with children! \nPlease sign in at registration table day of event to receive your wristband and/or tshirt \nWe encourage participants of all ages! We welcome youth groups\, sports teams\, service groups\, and families. Don’t forget to get a box for yourself! We recommend looking for a box at: appliance retailers\, outdoor furniture stores\, car repair companies\, etc.. \nIndividual participants will raise a minimum of $25.00 per person. For families the fee will be $25 per adult; $10 per child 7-9 years old; free for 6 & under. Ask your family and friends for donations to “sponsor” your night in Box city\, just as you would a walkathon. Funds raised will help prevent homelessness and provide critically important services and housing for homeless families in Lawton. Top three individuals to raise the most money will be presented with a prize day of the event. \nDinner will be provided so we ask that no outside food be brought in. Box set up will start at 3:30. Boxs will be judged by the box city planning committee and the top 3 winners will be presented with a prize at the event. \nIF you regrister before March 24th you will get a Box City shirt at the event. Online regristration will be open until April 20th but you can always register at the event! \n\n\nGroups must have a ratio of 1 adult to 6 youth (under 18 years old)\n\n\nNo alcohol illegal drugs\, smoking\, or in appropriate behavior\n\n\nNo pets\n\n\n\n\nParticipants must wear wristbands (provided at the event) always\n\n\nIf you have any questions about the event please contact Courtney Risch at 5806992821
