DESCRIPTION:The 8th Annual NFL Punt\, Pass & Kick (PPK) will be held on September 19th at Cameron Stadium. The NFL PPK program is a national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 15 to compete separately against their peers. Established in 1961\, the PPK program is the oldest NFL Youth Football program. Girls and boys in five separate age divisions (6-7\, 8-9\, 10-11\, 12-13\, and 14-15) compete against each other in punting\, passing\, and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum. Admission will be at least one nonperishable food item per person (more is always welcome). The items will be donated to the Lawton Food Bank. So come out and enjoy the movie for the first time in digital HD and support a good cause! The 80-minute silent movie (set to music) was filmed in 1920 in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge\, and has an all-American Indian cast. In 2013\, this film was selected for induction in the National Film Registry.

DESCRIPTION:The 36th Annual International Festival is a 3-day event that celebrates Lawton’s cultural diversity.  There is no admission or parking fees.  Event features two stages of entertainment\, Children’s Area\, Handicap Parking adjacent to festival\, Information Booth\, Interactive Area\, food vendors\, sales vendors\, display booths\, ATM & First Aide Station.  Park and ride the free shuttle from McMahon Auditorium to the festival grounds. \nFriday & Saturday night at 8pm feature headline concerts as well as a street dance.  Featured concert performers will be announced July 2015. \nOver 3-day event\, attendance average range is 43\,000.  Hours: Friday 5 to 10pm\, Saturday 11am to 10pm\, and Sunday I2 Noon to 5pm. 5:45pm\, Friday\, Parade of Nations followed by Opening Ceremony\, 2nd Street Stage (South) w/ Naturalization Ceremony. \nPlease\, service animals only.  No personal alcohol\, bicycles or skate boards \nFor more information:  Click Here \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Lawton Community will be presenting the second edition of “Open Streets Lawton-Fort Sill” on Friday\, October 2nd\, 2015 from 4pm-10pm on “C” Avenue from 2nd to 5th Streets in Downtown Lawton\, OK. We had over 4000 attend the first event on June 6th\, 2015. Don’t miss out! This event is presented by a multitude of community organizations. Open streets is a newer concept that turns city streets into a temporary public park with activities for the whole family to get people moving. Open Streets is a national movement with more than 90 documented initiatives in North America. Open streets events are increasingly common in cities seeking innovative ways to achieve environmental\, social\, economic\, and public health… goals by temporarily closing streets to automobile traffic\, so that people may use them for walking\, bicycling\, dancing\, playing\, and socializing. \nHere are some valuable things that Open Streets brings to the community:\n• Open Streets creates sense of community\n• Open Streets promotes active lifestyle\n• Open Streets promotes active transportation\n• Open Streets aides in efforts for revitalization and economic development \nOther surrounding cities including OKC have Open Streets days; there are even Open Streets in New York City down Park Ave and Times Square!
